Bath Seals & How to Fit?

Bath seals are a very necessary bath addition, and besides adding a finishing touch to your bath, they serve to prevent water damage.

What is a Bath Seal?

For a leak free bathroom, a bath seal is a must have accessory and fills the gap between your bath and the wall. Traditional bath trims are known to have a hollow profile, but at Splash Direct, we’ve got bath seals with a solid profile. This means that the adhesion between the wall, the profile and the bath is maximised to give a longer lasting seal that is flexible and strong. Our bath seals are especially easy to fit, even for a first time DIY novice. Our bath seals require little maintenance and remain free of mould for years, thanks to their manufacturing materials. They are also resistant to most bathroom cleaning products and installation can be done in a matter of minutes.

How to Install a Bath Seal

It is important to seal a bath securely. If done incorrectly, water may seep down between the bath and the wall, causing mould, rotting and flooding. There are two popular main methods to seal a bath, and those are to use a special sealant strip or to use a silicone sealant. Using a special sealant strip is the best manner to employ, as you can seal wider gaps than you would when using a silicone sealant. When using a sealant strip, simply cut the strip to the lengths needed, and then peel off the backing and press the strip into place. Sound too simple to be true? That’s the beauty of Splash Direct.
